| secret hidden veg brownies but you wouldn’t know it! |
I made these brownies because I had some leftover pumpkin from Halloween so decided to half the amount of dates in the original recipe and swap it out for pumpkin & it turned into one of the best ideas I’ve ever had! What was even better was that the taste wasn’t compromised at all as the dates provide plenty of sweetness & the cacao gives such a rich chocolatey taste. Uh-mazing!! (more…)

I love my porridge and I’m always looking for new recipes to jazz it up, recently I’ve also been trying to use beetroot more as I know how good it is for me but I rarely use it. Then one morning this little idea popped into my head and I’m so glad it did & the colour looks amazing! Plus you don’t need to worry about the beetroot taste as the banana covers it completely, as one of my friends use to say “when you put banana into anything, it always tastes of banana & nothing else”.
Benefits of banana beetroot porridge:
Great for pre workout as the beets help blood vessels dilate meaning more oxygen gets to the muscles so they fatigue less easily, also the banana and beets are full of natural slow releasing sugars and the fibre from the oats help energy levels too!

This sauce is so great for health but I especially love the addition of the sprouts, this ingredient makes the recipe super annoying for cancer cells as sprouts have up to 20 times more sulforaphane (SFN) than bigger cruciferous veggies like broccoli & cabbage etc.

Ive updated this recipe since last Halloween to include more spices in it, A great Halloween treat that won’t spike blood sugar levels like normal sweets & another bonus is that it actually provides some nutrition!
*Chocolate sauce is optional, my pie was still slightly warm when I added it on both times (I attempted jack skellington 2nd time) so it ran a little & actually formed a strange kind of ghost! but at least now you know to be patient (unlike me) and let your pie cool before attempting a design, so hopefully you won’t make this mistake.

This recipe is great for the skin as the sweet potato is loaded with beta carotene which is the precursor of Vitamin A which is a strong antioxidant & fat soluble vitamin therefore you need fat in the meal to absorb it hence the benefits of the coconut milk combo.
