| secret hidden veg brownies but you wouldn’t know it! |
I made these brownies because I had some leftover pumpkin from Halloween so decided to half the amount of dates in the original recipe and swap it out for pumpkin & it turned into one of the best ideas I’ve ever had! What was even better was that the taste wasn’t compromised at all as the dates provide plenty of sweetness & the cacao gives such a rich chocolatey taste. Uh-mazing!! (more…)

Ive updated this recipe since last Halloween to include more spices in it, A great Halloween treat that won’t spike blood sugar levels like normal sweets & another bonus is that it actually provides some nutrition!
*Chocolate sauce is optional, my pie was still slightly warm when I added it on both times (I attempted jack skellington 2nd time) so it ran a little & actually formed a strange kind of ghost! but at least now you know to be patient (unlike me) and let your pie cool before attempting a design, so hopefully you won’t make this mistake.

I was really craving some chocolate recently and had some spare pistachios leftover & these beauties were the result & oh so good for you too!
Recipe:
*50g cacao butter
*2 generous tablespoons cacao powder
*2 tablespoons sweetener (i like to use sweet freedom)
*a tspn vanilla essence
*50g pistachios/gojis/ other nuts e.g nut butter however i found that when using nut butter it tends to seep out of the edges so using whole nuts is handier. (more…)

Firstly, these look a bit haphazard as I couldn’t wait to eat them so didn’t bother getting a spoon/piping set & just smeared it on with a fork!
I whipped up this delicious, citrus baobab frosting (in less than 2 mins) which tastes amazing plus it is packed with Vitamin C & antioxidants!

I’ve made a few recipes recently which have turned out quite well, they involve some great ingredients & are so simple to make so I thought I’d share them here.
I love this tea as ginger & turmeric are such good anti-inflammatory ingredients & great for the immune system, plus I personally find it hard to work turmeric into my meals so this is going to be a new regular recipe for me =)
Links to papers regarding the benefits of turmeric are posted at the bottom of this page
Turmeric Tea- 1 serving
Add approx 200/250ml plant based or regular milk to a saucepan
Add half a teaspoon of turmeric, the same for ground ginger (cinnamon optional) & then 1 teaspoon of maple/honey or whichever sweetener you like
Gently heat this mix until warm, pour into a mug & enjoy!
You can add other spices/herbs depending on your preference e.g. cinnamon, nutmeg etc
