This is my selection of snacks that aren’t filled with chicory inulin as some people can’t tolerate lots of prebiotics without symptoms and it seems like it’s in everything these days!
Every protein bar i pick up seems to have a tonne of chicory in it which means anyone sensitive to this ingredient cant eat an entire bar and so will need to find a different option. Here’s a rundown of the ones I like and use regularly.
Boostballs: These contain natural ingredients for sweetness and protein so don’t contain refined sugar and the keto version is good too, they do have some acacia gum fiber but its not triggering like chicory so I also love those ones too

Nakd bars: These are everywhere these days and for good reason, wholesome ingredients, no added sugar but delicious flavours. Easy to access and a good price if on offer but you can also find similar items which aren’t branded but same ingredients

Nucao choc: These bars are low sugar, no refined sugar and no chicory either so still good for your gut and really good for the environment too as they plant trees for every product you buy!

Love Raw: These nut butter cups are lovely, I recommend them dipped into hot tea as the choc melts that way. No refined sugar in these specific items, only coconut sugar and agave. Who can resist a nut butter & choc combo?

Urban fruit: These coconut chips are the perfect snack for anyone who loves a tropical flavour or isn’t fond of nuts etc. Just coconut, coconut nectar & salt + gently roasted.
Find at Tesco, Asda and health stores
Raw bake station: These cookies are so lovely and crumbly almost like shortbread. Coconut sugar and maple sweetened these and they use oat flour but no prebiotics.
