This recipe was a happy accident resulting from me throwing a bunch of my favourite ingredients into a food processor and hoping for the best, luckily for me, they taste amazing, seriously, I’m not just saying that, I was really surprised by how good these tasted! The beans and nut butter make them creamy and the crunchy cacao nibs throughout give a cookie dough texture 💕
A major bonus is that they are the perfect pre/post workout snack and sooooo nutritious, there’s so much magnesium, fibre & protein in this recipe & is loaded with anti-inflammatory omega 3 fats due to the chia & hemp.
Per dough ball: 6.6g protein

I just finished a HIIT workout today in very warm weather which I’m not use to here in Ireland and was really in need of something cooling, this did the trick, plus as it’s made from frozen bananas it counts as 1 of your 5 a day! Bonus!
Leave yourself approx 2 hours to freeze the bananas before you plan on eating this.

A simple, classic treat with the option of the added twist of moringa* powder for an extra kick of nutrition for the health warriors (but trust me, you won’t taste it, I served these up to my family and they didn’t suspect a thing!).
*Do not use moringa if you’re pregnant-consult a doctor first
Even if you choose to leave out the moringa (in which case reduce the syrup to 1Tbspn) but make your own chocolate, this is still an awesome treat as the chocolate will then retain a lot of its goodness when compared to the heavily heated/processed varieties.

These are a great little snack and you can easily manipulate them to suit your own tastes e.g choose white chocolate chips with cranberries or use different fruit such as fresh cherries, gojis or raisins. This recipe is healthier than the traditional as it doesn’t use any refined biscuits, condensed milk and omits the heavily processed cherries, with the replacement ingredients being a lot “cleaner” and with less refined sugar.

A huge bonus to this pie is that as the ingredients are pretty much what you might have in the morning i.e. porridge oats topped with banana, nut butter and cacao nibs, you don’t need to feel guilty if you fancied eating it for breakfast!
Plus, the base is made from ground oats which give a really crumbly biscuit like texture when cooked (or for a raw recipe simply leave to set for a few hours in the fridge).

These are great for a homemade valentine’s gift and they’re heart healthy too as very little heat is used therefore you get the max amount of antioxidants and phenolics from this chocolate and you add your own sweetener so you can control the sugar and purity.See my other post on the benefits of raw cacao

I used a silicone heart mould that you can easily get from amazon, this recipe fills the 15 hearts nicely but you can make more if you prefer your chocolates a little thinner
